hey,

im currently in my fourth year in london and am looking to do a 'special study module' in australia. As i havent quite reached the point where i have to arrange an elective like most of you guys, i would be really interested in doing something very specialised, which will make it much more worthwhile to come to melbourne. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please let me know if you do. Thank you.

To whom it may concern,
I am doctor from Jordan, I did AMC MCQ exam and I wish to enroll in medical field in Australia, but before that I prefer to get experince in Australian medicine.
So, I am looking for observership or elective program in medicine for 2-3 months. prefer this in melbourne, as they told me that Melbourne is the centre of medicine in Australia.
Regards,
M. Abdallah

hi

Im a final year medical student in Pakistan.I wish to do electives in australia in early 2010..i also plan to sit for australian medical exam (AME) Part-I at about the same time or about a month or two later. How can i manage this? I will be graduating in december 2009.I would like to know the procedure to apply and also what are the chances of getting into a desired residency program later on.How much do the electives(eg. the hospital where electives are done and the time period for which they are done) ,and the AME scores count towards getting into a popular residency program.
THANK YOU.

hello everyone and bula from Fiji!!

i am currently pursuing my 4th year of MBBS here in Fiji at the Fiji School of Medicine. I am very much interested in applying for an elective in australia, most probably melbourne. I will be doing my major blocks this year, that is, special topics, surgery, psychiatry and medicine. And so next year will include the rest. However, I have been to Australia twice so far, but only to Sydney and so I would like to visit another part of Australia.

Most of my seniors have been over to Australia the previous years for elective studies, and this has also prompt me to try out. Hence, I would be grateful if anyone is able to help me find the suitable place to start off, since I am quite new at this....

thank you.

Hi.. I'm a third year medical student from Malaysia. I've been reading some of the comments here and definately they are very helpful. However, i was wondering, i'm doing a project on certain topics, topics of interest.. that is related to medical field..eg: stem cell, bariatric (obesity) medicine etc. but i'm not looking for a long posting in one particular department but more of an overall look and may be some form of hands on in these particular fields.. Well i am wondering if anyone could point out to me the procedures that i need to follow in order for me to do my project in australia? and are the procedures similar to that of applying for an elective posting as mentioned above? thanks..
